Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept custom orders?

Yes and no.

I am currently accepting custom orders on existing products. For example, items can be personalised and colours can be customised.

I am currently not accepting custom orders between January 2024 and March 2024 that are not already offered on the website

Please note I will not make any copyrighted material for example Disney, Warner Bros etc.

How long will it take to dispatch my order?

All ready to ship items (found under the ready to ship tab) will be dispatched within 3-5 working days. If you require your items sooner, please contact me using the contact form and I can generally accommodate a quicker dispatch this for ready to ship items.

All made to order items state the approximate dispatch time on the product listing itself. At the moment this is between 5 day and 3 weeks depending on the item. I will contact you to let you know if there are any delays.

How will my items be shipped?

For UK orders, most items will be sent Royal Mail second class as standard. This is to keep costs as low as possible for you.

If you need your items quickly, you can select express shipping. Items will be sent Royal Mail first class or tracked 48 depending on the size and weight of your item.

International orders will be sent with Royal Mail International. Please note - I currently do not ship to the EU.

For more details, please read the shipping policy linked at the bottom of the page.

Can I sell my finished crochet makes if I use your patterns?

Yes, you can sell your finished makes on a small scale BUT please give pattern credit if you post it anywhere online.

You just need to write: Pattern by HDMakes and feel free to tag me on social media.

Whilst you can sell your individual makes on a small scale, my patterns must not be used by manufacturers to sell wholesale items.

My digital and physical patterns (sold in kits) are not to be redistributed, rewritten, sold, copied, translated or shared, in part or in whole either physically or electronically. They are copyright protected and you will face legal action.

Is there anywhere else I can access your crochet patterns?

Yes, some of my patterns are available as pdfs on Ravelry. Some patterns are available in an online format on Ribblr.

If you are based outside the UK or USA, I recommend buying my patterns from either Ravlery or Ribblr. Due to VAT laws in different countries, I am not able to make my patterns available on the website in all countries.

Where are your products made and who makes them?

This is a question I often get asked. All my products are designed and made in the UK.

I hand crochet all the products myself in my home in Portsmouth. This is why dispatch times are slightly longer as there is only one of me and limited making hours.

All merchandise such as stickers are designed by me and are printed in the UK by a company called Zap Creatives. This allows me to give you the best quality merchandise and focus my time on the crochet products and patterns.
